My Go-To Look: The White T-Shirt Edition

In my closet, you can find all sorts of articles of clothing. From snakeskin pants to red booties, to pops of orange, and about everything in between, my closet is truly one of my most prized possessions. Although these fashionable and exotic clothing pieces are fun to wear, I find myself always going back to one thing: my favorite white t-shirt. Let’s be real, it’s all fun and games until you are scrambling to find something to wear in the morning, while you are running late to that meeting, class, or coffee date (goodness gracious, I have been there way too many times)! It is that exact reason that I keep coming back to my sacred white t-shirt. It is effortless but chic, you can dress it up or down, and it truly stands the test of time (it just never goes out of style, I have had mine for five years). People always ask me how to look put together from day to day without going crazy trying to find that perfect outfit in your closet. Here is my answer: wear the same white t-shirt in multiple ways, as different outfits. For the people who are about dying inside thinking of the word “outfit repeater” I am here to tell you, wearing the same shirt, while changing the other pieces of clothing you are wearing and adding accessories is called innovation (and I like to call it being a babe on a budget)!

So for those looking to amp up your style by not spending another dime on your wardrobe, take a look at these five outfits I created with the same white t-shirt.

Let's Talk Shopping: Where I Shop

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend asked me where I shop. I thought to myself that the reason I created this blog was so that people would be inspired by my fashion and get ideas of how to put different pieces together. but then It dawned on me that I have never written a post on where I shop! So here is a list (both inexpensive and expensive) of boutiques and shops that I simply love. PS. I have ALWAYS been a big advocate for shopping local to not only have a unique style but to help out the local businesses!

For those who call San Diego home:

  • Van De Vort - boutique serving the finest bohemian brands, chic shoes, and pieces that can jazz up any outfit. (PRICES: on the more expensive side, but YOU can find things for under $100)

  • Mabels - family owned boutique that sells both babY and women's clothes and CARRIES all locally-made jewelry. Half of my closet is Mabels because I worked at this amazing spot for a little over two years! I might be biased, but go check it out! (PRICES: ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE SIDE, BUT DEFINITELY HAS A GOOD SELECTION OF AFFORDABLE Pieces)

  • Cedros soles - best shoes ever, not to mention they have every type of clothing, JEWELRY, AND accessory ever! i have yet to leave cedros soles empty handed. DID I MENTION IT IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MABELS? WIN WIN! (PRICES: DEFINITELY ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE SIDE, BUT EVERYTHING IS AMAZING QUALITY AND WILL LAST A LIFETIME. I TEND TO BE OKAY SPENDING MORE MONEY ON TIMELESS PIECES BECAUSE THEY DON'T GO OUT OF STYLE)

For my online shoppers:

  • Revolve (I get most of my formal attire here)
  • Lulus (great prices, VERY AFFORDABLE)
  • Princess polly (great prices)
  • Lovers and Friends (ON THE EXPENSIVE SIDE)
  • Jet Set Diaries (ON THE EXPENSIVE SIDE)
  • REFORMATION (PRICEY, BUT THEY ARE HUGE ON SUSTAINABILITY AND PRIDE THEMSELVES ON BEING ECO-FRIENDLY)
  • 31 BITS (THE CUTEST JEWELRY, MADE BY WOMEN ARTISANS AROUND THE GLOBE. I'M ALL ABOUT THE FASHION FOR A CAUSE kind of COMPANIES)

FOR MY GIRLS WHO LIKE TO TRY ON BEFORE THEY PURCHASE:

  • Free people (always find something I love here AND LOTS OF AFFORDABLE PIECES, you just have to look)
  • Nordstrom (DO I EVEN HAVE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF? THERE IS SIMPLY SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE IN NORDSTROM)
  • For Love and Lemons (VERY PRICEY, BUT I AM OBSESSED WITH THE UNIQUE STYLES THEY COME OUT WITH. THEY ARE ALWAYS PUSHING THE TRENDS)
  • Stone Cold Fox (EXPENSIVE BUT AMAZING QUALITY)
  • Planet Blue (HAVE EVERYTHING FROM GRAPHIC TEES, TO JEANS, TO THE MOST INTRICATE DRESSES. ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE SIDE, BUT I ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING I LIKE WHEN I GO)
  • Show Me your Mumu (FUN PATTERNS AND LOUD PIECES THAT WILL HAVE PEOPLE STARING AT YOU AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN THE DOOR)

THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY SHOPS I BUY MY CLOTHES AT BUT JUST A FEW OF MY FAVORITES. FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING SPECIFIC AND NEED SOME HELP ON WHERE TO LOOK!

NICOLINA

My Favorite Summer Trend: Sundresses

Let's talk trends of the summer! Both in San Diego and in Los Angeles it has been crazy hot. Like I'm talking step outside and you are immediately sweating kind-of-hot. Anyway, this summer heat has got me to really step out of the box with my fashion, to be both comfortable and cute. Below you will find my go-to outfit these past couple of weeks: sundresses. i mean c'mon, dresses are so versatile. They can be worn for a barbecue with the family, shopping with the friends, or even a picnic at the beach during sunset with your man. whether you pair them with some chunky sneakers, some cat-eyed sunglasses, or layer on the JEWELRY, SUNDRESSES will help you beat the heat while also making the streets your very own personal runway. with that being said, here are some of my looks wearing sundresses:

San Diego Winter

Romper: NAKED ZEBRA

Shoes: SANDRO PARIS

Handbag: PEPE JEANS

ACCESSORIES: WRAP CHOKER (PAMELA HANNON DESIGNS), HAT (something special)

I have to be honest, rompers are a real pain in the you know what. I really don’t love to wear them because I pee every 20 seconds and I’d rather not have to take off all my clothes when I need to go to the bathroom. Too much information? Probably, but we are all friends here. Anywho, I saw this romper and i just HAD to get it. Not only does it hug you in all the right places, but it is actually the most comfortable thing ever! I could sleep in it (not kidding). I have worn it to New Year’s Eve shenanigans, formal events with some nicer shoes, and even to the beach with my swimsuit underneath. It is an all occasion romper. So yes, I might not love rompers, but this one is just a must. Get the details above!

Update: Currently In Love With Bell Sleeves

Jeans: MAdewell

Top: Olivaceous

Shoes: dolce vita

Accessories: necklace (mabels boutique), rings (Gorjana)

Okay so I don’t know about you, but I seriously love a good bell sleeve. I think they are fun and give the outfit a little more pizazz. Also, someone asked me the other day what some staple items they could buy that could be paired with everything. My answer? White jeans. Mine are from Madewell and I absolutely love the way they fit! My black bell sleeve shirt is actually a dress but I love making clothes into different styles for a new look. See the full outfit and what I’m wearing below.
